It's Cinco de Mayo!

Which for us means Tacos and 'Ritas tonite! Ole! So how do you celebrate Cinco de Mayo if at all?  My granddaughter thinks we should celebrate everything, so I try for her. This one is special to her because she is half Mexican. And the older she gets the more she wants to learn about her heritage. So whatever you do today...just enjoy it!

One year smoke free!

Today is my one year anniversary of stopping smoking. Sometimes I still want one but it's getting less and less. Overall I feel much better and have saved loads of money. Now if I can just get hubby to stop that would be great. Last yr he told me if I made it six months he'd quit. Well come November he did quit for about a week. I've quitting asking , I won't be a nag about it like most reformed smokers , he will quit if he ever really decides he wants to.  So what should I do to celebrate this milestone? Maybe go buy me something pretty.  So anyone else an ex smoker, was it hard for you to quit? How long have you been a non smoker?

Taco Tuesday!

Afternoon ya'll , it's taco tuesday here  tonight. Katie is excited , it's her favorite meal. She asked me could we give everynite of the week a name like we do on tuesday. I told her sure would she like to have meatloaf monday...LOL she quickly said no. She wants meatball monday. At least I know what we will be having two days next week! So do you do all your meal planning or do you let the family help ? I find the kiddos it better if they get a little in put in the meal. Does you house have certain meal on a weekly basis like our taco tuesdays? I'm always looking for new ideas for supper so what's on your table tonight?

Over at  Pretty Shiny Sparkly, she challenged us to post ten random things about ourself. Here are ten things about me you probably don't know.


1. I panic inside when I'm in a crowd and can't find anyone I know.
2. I hate it when people wear jeans that are too long for them and walk on them til they wear them out on     the   bottoms.
3. I graduated number 69 out of 500 in highschool.
4. People who talk really loud in public while using their cells phones and blue tooths really bother me, I find that so rude.
5. I'm afraid of frogs...spiders don't phase me but frogs scare the crap outta me.

6. I'm a reality tv junkie. 90% of what I watch is reality tv. I watch it all from Hoarders to Amazing Race, All the real Housewives to Little People Big World
7.  I want to get my nose or my eyebrow pierced. But I'm afraid ut will hurt.
8. I like to watch british movies.

9.  I was a teen in the 80's but I hate 80's music, I rather listen to classic rock or new stuff.
10. Even though I don't wear them because I would break my neck I love hooker shoes.

Let's talk coffee!

I love coffee, if I'm not careful I could drink it all day long. My favorite is Community Coffee. Right now I'm drinking Pecan Praliene.  Wow it is so good and smells fantastic.  Everytime I have a cup and my son in law is near me he comments on how good it smells. We drink Community on a regular basis here sometimes switching off with eight o'clock coffe.  I doctor my coffee up with cream and splenda. I just can't drink it black that often anymore. So that's what I drink at home , when I'm out I like to get A Seattle's best, white chocolate raspberry is my favorite and if we go to Starbucks I like to get mocha frappichinos.  So what's your favorite coffee at home and out and about?

Carter's Big Boy Bed

He is very proud of his Toy Story bed.

We thought he would give us problems going to sleep in it but he got right in it and went to sleep.

He is growing up way to fast for me.

Easter is upon us!

Easter is coming up quick. What are your plans. We are going to celebrate on Good Friday since everyone has to work this Easter. Going to my parents house for dinner and egg hunt. Downside is my mom will be in the middle of one of her chemo treatments and will have to wear her pump. She's hoping to not feel too bad.

For dinner we are staying pretty traditional this year...ham, dressing, mashed taters and veggies. Chicken strips for the kiddos. I'm excited this year because it will be Carter's first Easter to hunt eggs, that should be fun.

The end of a long week!

Finally even though it is Sunday it is the end of the week for my hubby and me. He's off the next two days and we plan on doing some much needed yard work. As for the rest of the people in the house it's back to school and work for them. Except for Little Man he will hang with us. He had a milestone tonite and went from a baby bed to a big boy bed. He is so proud of it , at bedtime he went in there and went right to sleep! I'll have to post pics soon.

I think I'm getting the hang of this blog thing. We shall see. LOL Mark, my husband has been telling me to do this for awhile. So I decided to give it a try. If you are still reading this I hope you will stop by again. Thanks!
